The embassy expressed its shock at the “horrific” attack and also expressed its condolences to the families of those killed. The Indian Embassy in Russia tweeted, “Shocked by the attack on Perm State University in Russia. Condolences to the families of those who died and wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
The embassy said, “The embassy is in touch with local authorities and representatives of Indian students. All Indian students of Perm State Medical University are safe.”
Russia’s health ministry said at least eight people were killed and 24 were injured in the shootings, Russia’s state-run news agency Sputnik reported. President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to the families of those killed in the attack.
