Spain’s Nadal made a comeback to beat Russia’s Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in the final of the Australian Open. The match lasted for five hours and 24 minutes. Before the 2022 Australian Open, the legendary trio Federer, Djokovic and Nadal had won 20-20 titles. Federer was ruled out of the tournament due to multiple knee surgeries and Djokovic was ruled out of the tournament due to deportation from Australia for not getting the Kovid-19 vaccine. With this, Nadal got a chance to become the first men’s player to win 21 major singles titles.

The final of the Australian Open was not easy for Nadal. Nadal returned from the second set, which he had never done before at a Grand Slam in 15 years in his career.
