Today is the centenary celebrations of the Bihar Vidhan Sabha building. President Ram Nath Kovind will be present as the chief guest. The President will reach the Assembly at 10.50 am. The Bihar Vidhan Sabha has been decorated like a bride for the event. Tight security arrangements have been made. There they will stay for a total of one hour and 10 minutes. Before going to the venue of the ceremony, he will lay the foundation stone of the centenary memorial pillar in the assembly premises. This 25 feet high pillar is being established to commemorate the completion of hundred years of the main building. After this, President Kovind will plant a sapling of Bodhi tree. In the evening, a dinner has been organized in his honor at the official residence of the Speaker. During this cultural program will also be organized in which total 71 artists including Swara Kokila Sharda Sinha will perform. A cultural program will be followed by dinner. In this, all the ministers, MLAs and MLCs including the Governor and Chief Minister will also be present.
In the honor of the President, evening cultural evening and dinner in honor of the President have been organized at the official residence of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly located at Two Deshratna Marg. The President will arrive at 7.35 pm and will stay till 9 pm. On his arrival, the program will start with Shankhnaad and Bihar’s pride song. Rhythm of Bihar will be presented by Arjun Choudhary. In this, such musical instruments will be presented, which are slowly becoming extinct. In which Mandar and Nagara are also included. Swati Sinha will perform Kathak dance. Dhrupad will be recited by Malik brothers. When the program reaches the last stage, Bihar Nightingale Sharda Sinha will present folk songs.
About one and a half thousand guests from Bihar-Jharkhand have been invited to participate in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha building centenary celebrations program. All the former and present MLAs and MPs of Bihar along with other prominent people have been requested by the Speaker to personally call. In this, there are many such honorable people living in Jharkhand, who have been members of the United Bihar Legislative Assembly. Former Jharkhand Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari has also been invited. The President will be accompanied by Governor Fagu Chauhan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Speaker of the Assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha, Executive Chairman of the Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh.
The centenary memorial pillar, which will be laid by the President in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha complex, is being built in memory of the hundred years journey of the Vidhan Sabha building. This 25 feet high pillar will show the legislative tradition of Bihar. Above it will be a Bodhi tree made of metal 15 feet high. In this way the total height of the pillar will be 40 feet. It will have a glimpse of Bihar. Nine branches will be the identity of nine divisions of Bihar. There are 38 sub-branches, which will represent 38 districts of the state. Similarly, it will have a total of 243 leaves equal to the members of the Legislative Assembly. This 25 feet high pillar will show the legislative tradition of Bihar. Above it will be a Bodhi tree made of metal 15 feet high. In this way the total height of the pillar will be 40 feet. It will have a glimpse of Bihar. The Peepal plant (Bodhi tree) that will be planted in the Bihar Assembly complex is not a common plant. It has been specially brought from Bodh Gaya by two Buddhist monks. With the conch shell, the President will plant this plant with his own hands.
