There will be no anti-Covid vaccination on Friday at centers run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Maharashtra government in Mumbai. This information was given by a senior official of the civic body.
He said that the civic body has sufficient stock of vaccines and vaccination will resume from Saturday. There are 374 active immunization centers in the metropolis out of which 309 are operated by BMC and 20 centers are operated by the state government.
So far nine crore people have been vaccinated
The Maharashtra government on Wednesday said that nine crore people in the state have been given at least one dose of the anti-Covid vaccine so far, which is the highest number in the country. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that till Wednesday evening, nine crore people of Maharashtra have been given vaccine doses.
Of these, 2.76 crore people have been given both doses of the vaccine. He said that the state government was trying to speed up the vaccination campaign.
