Tollywood superstar Ravi Teja appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday in connection with a money laundering probe related to the 2017 drug case. This was the second time that Teja had appeared before the probe agency. Ravi Teja appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Prohibition and Excise Department, which busted the drug racket in the year 2017.
The names of 12 superstars including ‘Crack’ actor Ravi Teja are involved in this whole matter. Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh, Charmi Kaur, Telugu film director Puri Jagannath and 12 big names of Tollywood are also involved in this. Ravi Teja reached ED office today. The entire matter was tweeted from the official Twitter account of ‘Hyderabad Times’. It read TollywoodDrugs and MoneyLaundering @RaviTeja_offl reached ED office to face inquiry. Ravi Teja is the sixth Tollywood personality to appear before the ED. Actress Charmi Kaur, Rakul Preet Singh, Nandu and actor Rana were questioned since August 31.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had questioned Telugu film director Puri Jagannath for nearly 10 hours. The ED officials are said to have recorded the statement of the director and questioned him about some financial transactions. The drug racket was busted on July 2, 2017, when a musician Calvin Mascarenhas and two others were arrested by Excise and drugs worth Rs 30 lakh were also seized from them.
On the work front, Ravi Teja was last seen in the film ‘Crack’. The film was directed by Gopichand Malineni. Ravi Teja played the role of a police officer in this film. Shruti Haasan was opposite Ravi Teja in the film.
