A similar message is becoming viral on social media these days. The Indian Income Tax Department (Income Tax Department) is running the lucky draw scheme. In this, a prize money of thousands of rupees is being given to the winners. E-mails and messages are being circulated by fraudsters with the false claim that a person has won the lottery in the lucky draw scheme run by the Income Tax Department. What is being claimed?
The official Fact Check Twitter handle of Press Information Bureau (PIB) gave information about a fake lottery advertisement running on social media. PIB Fact Check tweeted, “Fraudulent lottery advertisement claims that the recipient won a lottery worth Rs 8,388 jointly organized by Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).” KBC posters are also being used with these claims.

PIB Fact Check tweeted saying that this lottery is a scam, an attempt is being made to cheat people in this. The IT department is not running any lottery scheme in association with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) nor is giving prize money to anyone.
