Shivaram’s son L Lakshmish said, ‘My father Shivaram is no more with us. Doctors of Prashant Hospital tried their best to cure him but unfortunately fate had other plans and we have to accept it.
Shivram gave six decades to cinema
Shivram worked in various roles as actor, comedian etc. in his illustrious cinema journey of six decades. He started his career as an assistant director and worked with great directors like Puttanna Kanagal, Sangeetham Srinivasa Rao and Sitaram Sastri. His roles in ‘Nagarhavu’ and ‘Shubhamangala’ are still loved among Kannada audiences.
Shivaram produced Rajinikanth’s film
Apart from directing films, he played roles in more than 60 films ranging from hero to co-star. He started his career in 1965 with the film ‘Bertha Jeeva’ but got success with ‘Dudde Dodappa’ and ‘Lagna Patrike’. Sivaram directed the film ‘Hriday Sangam’ in 1972 and produced a few films in Kannada and Tamil, including superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Dharam Durai’.
Celebrities mourn the death of Shivram
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has condoled the demise of the veteran actor and said that it was sad to learn. “It is a big loss for the Kannada film industry,” he said. Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa expressed grief over his death by tweeting. He said the state had lost a senior artist. Several Karnataka ministers, former ministers and Kannada film personalities have expressed grief over his demise.
