Maharashtra: A writer found in pathetic condition on the roadside in Solapur

Pune, Mar 10 (PTI) A writer was found in pathetic condition on the roadside in Maharashtra’s Solapur district. The author had bruises on his feet and hands after which he was taken to a hospital. Members of a local voluntary organization gave this information on Thursday.

Some members of the voluntary organization told that some of his colleagues saw him on Wednesday near Sainik Vihar in Pandharpur and when they asked him about him, they told that his name is MG Bhagat. He is a Class II officer and author and editor of some books.

Sujit Divan, a member of the organization that took Bhagat to the hospital, said, “We found him with dirty clothes and marks of wounds on his hands and feet. His condition was pathetic. When we asked him, he appeared to be educated. We understood that he had to come to Pandharpur from Wardha and his mobile phone and other valuables were stolen. He asked for Rs 50 so that he could take a bath.

According to locals, he was there for two-three days and the people of Sainik Vihar guesthouse were giving him tea and water. The doctors of the Civil Hospital said that he is undergoing treatment in the Orthopedic Department and the hospital administration is trying to establish contact with his family.
