Maharashtra: Two naxalites involved in protest in Gadchiroli arrested

Nagpur, Oct 28 (PTI) Police have arrested two Maoists involved in a protest organized against a mine project in Itapally taluka of Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. An official gave this information on Thursday.

A statement issued here said the villagers had organized a rally to protest against the Surajgarh mine project located in Itapally taluka on October 26.

According to this, the police had received information that some Naxalites may be involved in this rally, after which some personnel of the Special Operation Squad were deployed to arrest the militants in plain clothes.

Police arrested action team member Muda Masa Johi (32) and mass militia member Mainu Dorpeti during the rally, the statement said. According to the police, Johi is a resident of Gorgutta village. This highly sensitive AOP is located in the area of ​​Gatta Zambia. Both the militants have reportedly been involved in three encounters which took place in the last two years.

Doretti is a resident of Badmeta in Itapally and was involved in the alleged murder of a man on September 18. She was involved in the attack on AOB Gatta (Zambia) on 11 May. A reward of two lakh rupees has been announced on both the arrested Naxalites.
