Mangaluru fire mishap: Students shifted out of SSLC exam hall | Mangaluru News - Times of India

MANGALURU: Following an unintended hearth at an SSLC examination centre in Hira PU School constructing at Babbukatte close to Thokkotu, the schooling division shifted college students to the closest diploma faculty constructing.
As many as 208 college students have been allotted Hira School centre to jot down the examination. Mangaluru metropolis police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, who visited the centre, stated a hearth broke out because of a short-circuit from a fridge saved on the biology lab on the primary flooring of the constructing. The incident occurred at 10.45am, quarter-hour after the graduation of the examination.
“College students have been instantly shifted to the diploma faculty constructing. No casualties reported and the examination course of was not disrupted. Officers of the division of public instruction made vital preparations for the examination,” the highest cop stated.
Dakshina Kannada ZP CEO Kumar stated: “College students who have been writing the examination in 4 rooms have been shifted to the diploma faculty. They have been additionally given an extra half-hour given the time lapse.”
Of the 30,606 college students, together with 441 from Kasaragod district of Kerala, who had registered to jot down the examination at 179 centres in Dakshina Kannada district, 37 remained absent. Fifteen college students, who had examined constructive for Covid-19, wrote the examination. In the meantime, 32 college students with well being points have been made to jot down the examination in particular rooms. All 441 college students from Kerala wrote the examination.
