The Health Department has intensified the vaccination campaign to save people from the threat of the third wave of corona. A mega vaccination camp will be organized on 12th September. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Medical and Family Welfare Minister MA Subramanian has appealed to the people of his state to make maximum use of the mega immunization campaign against Kovid-19 to be carried out at 10,000 centers across the southern state on Sunday.

The minister said that the state government is planning to vaccinate 20 lakh people in a day on September 12 and arrangements have been made for 40,000 booths in 10,000 centres. People should make maximum use of it. Take this opportunity and get yourself vaccinated because the government is providing centers in every locality.

Booths have been set up in Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Government Hospitals, Integrated Child Development Scheme Centres, Mid Day Meal Centers and Schools. According to the statement of the minister’s office, the booths will function from 7 am to 7 pm. The mega immunization drive will be carried out by maintaining strict COVID-19 protocols including social distancing, wearing of masks, hand sanitization and other COVID-19 standard protocols issued by the Government of India.

People with cough, runny nose, fever and other COVID-19 related symptoms will not be allowed to enter the booths. Beneficiaries will be allowed to accompany only one person to the booth and those who take the dose will have to present an identity card issued by the Government of India.

The Minister said that the State after a lot of follow-up can mobilize the required quantity of vaccines from the Center for the mega immunization camp. Various departments including ICDS, Revenue, Local Bodies, Education, UNICEF, WHO, Rotary International and other NGOs are supporting the programme.
