Bhawanipur by-election: Calcutta High Court concludes hearing, reserves order
Brussels, Dec 15 (AP) Prisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s daughter received the European Union’s (EU) top human rights award on his behalf on Wednesday.

During this, EU MPs greeted him with standing applause.

Navalny, 45, was declared the winner of this year’s ‘Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought’ by the European Parliament in October.

It is noteworthy that in August 2020, Navalny survived the nerve agent (poison) incident and for this he blamed the Russian presidential office, the Kremlin. He was arrested in January on his return to Moscow from Germany after treatment.

Navalny’s daughter, Daria Navalnya, took a picture of her father while addressing EU lawmakers.
