The handiwork of an electrician in Purnia is a topic of discussion these days. In Daheriya tribal tola of Ganeshpur panchayat of Kriyanand Nagar police station, people caught electrician Surendra Rai red handed along with his girlfriend in an objectionable situation. After this, the angry people first beat both of them fiercely, then wore garlands of shoes and got their hair shaved. After this he also roamed in the village. The villagers got both of them married.

The incident is said to have happened on 9 October. According to locals, Parora resident electrician Surendra Rai had an illicit relationship with a tribal girl for the last 5 years. Whenever Surendra Rai, an electrician used to visit his girlfriend, he used to cut the electricity of the village for 3 hours. During this, both used to celebrate Rangrelies somewhere. Often the villagers were very upset due to the power cut of the village.

The villagers decided to teach a lesson to the electrician. On October 9, as soon as the electricity of the village was cut, the villagers started searching for Surendra Rai. Outside the village, the villagers caught Surendra with a young woman in an objectionable situation. Then the villagers thrashed both of them fiercely. After that, both of them shaved their hair and wore a garland of slippers and walked in the village.
