In 1929, a meeting was organized through the Indian National Congress under the chairmanship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. After the implementation of the constitution, the already existing British law Government of India Act (1935) was changed as the document of Indian governance through the Indian Constitution. That is why every year we Indians celebrate 26 January as Republic Day.
