Road accident in Telangana's Karimnagar district, four killed

Hyderabad: Four people were killed and one injured in a road accident in Telangana’s Karimnagar district on Friday. This information was given by the police.

The accident took place when the car the victims were traveling in collided with a tree in Manakondur area.

Four people in the car died on the spot, while the fifth was seriously injured. He has been admitted to a hospital in Karimnagar town.

The victims, belonging to the same family, were returning home from Kalluru in Khammam district to Karimnagar after attending the peda karma of a relative who passed away recently.

All of them had left for Khammam district on Thursday morning and had left for Karimnagar on Thursday night after attending the rituals.

Inspector Krishna Reddy said that the accident happened around 3.30 am.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver had a nap, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Koppula Srinivasa Rao, Koppula Balaji, Sriraju and the driver Jalandhar. Srinivasa Rao was injured.

The police took the bodies out of the car and sent them to the government hospital in Karimnagar for post-mortem.
