Kolkata, State unit officials of BJP met Mohan Bhagwat, chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on Wednesday. According to informed sources, during the meeting, the expansion of the Sangh in the state and the strengthening of the BJP were discussed. According to sources, in view of the imminent crisis in the state BJP due to continuous fragmentation and disintegration, the state unit of BJP sought the help of the Sangh to deal with this challenge. It is learned that preparations are being made to give place to the Sangh pracharaks in the organization and executive of the BJP.
According to sources, State BJP Organization General Secretary Amitabh Chakraborty and Dilip Ghosh met Bhagwat and State BJP President Dr. Sukant Majumdar interacted through virtual medium. Everyone also informed about the future strategy of the party. Majumdar and Ghosh also discussed organizational issues. According to BJP sources, talks were also held to include leaders with Sangh background in the party’s state executive. The Sangh’s recommendation was also taken on the names of the leaders of the Sangh who are being prepared to join the BJP.
Dilip Ghosh, who was the state president during the rise of BJP in the state, has been a campaigner of the Sangh. He has done union work for a long time in Andaman Islands. At the same time, the current state president Sukant Majumdar has been associated with ABVP, a student organization affiliated to the union.
