Shootings in the San Francisco Bay Area more than tripled in 4 years

San Francisco: Incidents of shootings in the San Francisco Bay Area have increased over the past 4 years, from 49 in 2018 to 165 in 2021. This information was given by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The CHP said the highest number of shootings were reported in Alameda County, which has recorded 74 incidents by the end of 2021, Xinhua news agency reported.
Whereas Oakland has been a prime area for shootings.
The Interstate Bay Area in Oakland saw 580 shootings in 2018 and 880 in 2019.
The San Francisco Chronicle said in a report on Monday that the number of fatalities has risen by record, from two fatal shootings across the Bay Area in 2018 to six fatalities from shootings in Oakland alone in 2021.
According to the report, only a few people have been arrested in the firing cases.
