This happened because Sagar and his friend Prince saw a woman becoming a victim of robbers near Balaun brick kiln. When Sagar and his friend opposed the robbery, the miscreants fired two-three rounds and fled. Villagers reached the spot after hearing gunshots and took Sagar and his friend Rajkumar Kumar (20) son Shrikant Prasad to Maharajganj Hospital. There the doctors declared Sagar brought dead. Prince is shot in the waist.

Maharajganj SDPO (in-charge) Baleshwar Rai said that the relatives of the deceased and local people set fire to seven houses of the village on Saturday morning alleging Sagar’s murder. According to the police, 32-year-old Sanju Devi, wife of Firoz Natt, who was protesting the arson, was thrashed to death by an angry mob. Three people also got burnt during the arson. They have been identified as Golu Kumar, Shibu Kumar and Rukhsana. All of them have been admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
