Six-year-old step-daughter was fired by a woman with a hot ladle, the video went viral

A six-year-old step-daughter was allegedly fired at by a woman with a hot ladle for eating sweets without permission in Gujarat’s Devbhoomi Dwarka district. A police official said that the incident came to light two days ago when a video of the girl narrating her ordeal went viral on social media. After this the woman was arrested on Monday. The video, shot by a neighbor after the incident, shows the girl showing injury marks on her body.

The girl is claiming that her stepmother bit her with teeth and even tried to strangle her after eating laddus without permission at her house located in Jamkhambhalia town. The girl alleged that her stepmother fired her with a hot ladle and claimed that her father was at home when the incident took place. The girl also claimed that she does all the household chores.

FIR lodged against woman
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused woman does not like her step-daughter and has been harassing her since her marriage to the girl’s father about two years ago,” said sub-inspector of police M J Sagathia. He said that after coming to know about the incident, Chandrashekhar M Buddhabhatti, president of the district child welfare committee, met the girl, who is now living with her grandmother, and lodged an FIR against the woman at Jamkhambhalia police station on Sunday.

‘Hotted with a ladle and tortured’
The police officer said, “It is alleged that the woman has hurled the step-daughter with a hot ladle and tortured her. Since the woman is pregnant, we consulted legal experts and finally arrested her on Monday. She has been booked for assault, criminal intimidation and under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
