In a letter to The Lancet Medical Journal, 27 scientists had ruled out the possibility that Kovid-19 originated from a lab in Wuhan. This claim is now clouded with suspicion as a new investigation has revealed that 26 of these scientists have links to Chinese scientists, their colleagues and patrons. A letter was published by the magazine on 7 March last year. In this, 27 scientists said that they strongly condemn the ‘conspiracy claims’ about the origin of the corona virus.
26 scientists’ relationship with China
This letter also put an end to the debate in which Kovid-19 was being claimed to be man-made or leaked from Wuhan lab. An investigation by The Daily Telegraph newspaper found that 26 of the 27 scientists had links to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, from where the virus was suspected to have leaked. This inquiry raises questions on the impartiality of the letter. A US report has claimed that the virus was leaked from China’s research facility.
US report alleges
It was said that scientists from the Institute of Virology in Wuhan had modified the corona virus in such a way that it could infect humans. It was also alleged that an attempt was made to hide this change. The report was presented by Mike McCall, a Republican representative and a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. According to this, there is evidence of virus leaking in the lab even before September 12, 2019.
Funds also received from the US government
It was told in the report that the Wuhan Virology Institute was behind the spread of the virus, which also included American experts. It had received funds from the US government along with China. An appeal was made in the report to investigate the origin of this deadly virus which has killed 44 lakh people worldwide. Accordingly, the time has come to dispel the theory of the virus spreading from the Wuhan market.
