The ruling party in West Bengal has urged the Delhi Police to arrest Sharma, a former BJP spokesperson, in connection with the controversial statement made against Prophet Mohammad.
Referring to the Supreme Court’s observations, the Trinamool Congress tweeted, “The Supreme Court has held Nupur Sharma alone responsible for setting the nation on fire, which led to the brutal murder in Udaipur. No one dared to touch you (Sharma) which shows your strength.
Hitting out at Shah and the Delhi Police, the party alleged, “It is shameful that Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Police are providing him (Sharma) protection.”
