Patel Chowk resident and organizer Rajendra Raut told that this tradition was started 22 years ago, since then every year the tricolor flag is hoisted continuously by people coming from poor and deprived sections. On the occasion of Republic Day this year, Purnachandra Das, who worked in the Galla shop, hoisted the flag and saluted.
Those who do not drink alcohol are given a chance
Poornachandra, who hoisted the flag on the occasion of Republic Day, said that I did not even believe that I would ever be able to hoist the national flag and salute it. It is a matter of great pride for me. At the same time, Rajendra Raut told that on the occasion of 15 August and 26 January, laborers, rickshaw pullers, sweepers coming from poor and deprived sections hoist the flag. Its purpose is to inculcate the feeling of patriotism in them. For this, such people are selected, who teach their children and do not drink alcohol.
