A 125-year-old veteran Swami Sivananda has received his second dose of vaccine this week during a vaccination campaign in Varanasi. Sivanand is believed to be the oldest beneficiary of the vaccine. Shivanand took the vaccine at the Urban Community Health Center Durgakund located in the CMO office premises.

Swami Sivananda told that the secret of his long life is yoga. He told that he practices yoga every day and eats food without oil and spices. His companion told that Sivananda lives alone, is still healthy and does not have any disease.

Swami Sivananda, a resident of Bengal, has been living in Banaras for 40 years

In-charge Medical Officer Dr. Sarika Rai told that Swami Sivananda has been living in Kashi for the last many years. He was given the first dose on 9 June. Seeing his Aadhar card and Voter ID card, the health workers were shocked when they saw that his date of birth was on August 8, 1896. Swami Sivananda, originally a resident of Srihatt district of Bengal, has been living in Kabir Nagar Colony in Bhelupur, Varanasi for almost 40 years.
