New Delhi: Team India recently played a 5-match test series against England. The last match of this series could not be played due to Corona virus cases being found in the Indian team. After the end of the four matches, Team India was ahead in this series 2-1, but due to the absence of the fifth match, the question in everyone’s mind was how this series would be decided. But now Team India’s opener Rohit Sharma has given a big statement on this matter.
Rohit told who won the series
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma said that India had won the series 2-1 against England. Rohit said in a virtual press conference, ‘It was a great tour for me and for the team personally. I don’t know what happened with the last Test match, will we play it as a one-off Test or will the series be decided. We don’t have any clarity on this yet. But in my view, we have won the series 2-1. This is how I see it.’
The 34-year-old believes the series is over for him and admitted that there is no clarity on the fifth Test in Manchester, which was called off due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Indian camp.
Rohit’s performance was excellent
Indian opener Rohit Sharma believes that his best performance is yet to come in Test cricket. Rohit has scored 368 runs for India in Tests against England in eight innings, including a century and two half-centuries.
Rohit said, ‘The tour of England was good for me, based on where I stood in Test cricket before that. But I wouldn’t say it was my best. I know my best is yet to come in Test cricket. I made good use of my time 15-20 days after the World Test Championship final in Southampton. I understood those small adjustments and techniques while playing in England. I am really happy with the way I batted on that tour. I will now try to build on that confidence and build on that success in Test cricket.
