The Tata group has expressed interest in buying Air India. Recently, the Tata group submitted a tender to buy Air India. All the tender process on behalf of the government is coming to an end on Wednesday.

The government plans to sell 100 per cent ownership of Air India. It is learned that the total debt of Air India is 43 thousand crore rupees. Of this, Tk 22,000 crore has been transferred to Asset Holding Limited. The Air India Building in Mumbai and the Airlines House in Delhi are also owned by Air India. In addition, Air India has 4,400 domestic and 1,600 international landing and parking slots at various airports in the country. Air India has 900 seats at foreign airports.

If Tata really gets ownership of Air India, it will be a historic event. Because, before India became independent in 1932, the Tata group bought Air India. At that time his name was Tata Airlines. Then in 1953 Air India became a state-owned company. If the Tata group gets ownership of Air India, it will be back in the hands of the Tatas again in 7 years.
