- According to The Economist London, there were 2.2 deaths in the world from Corona
- Washington’s IHME claims 1.8 crore deaths
- Deaths due to Kovid-19 have increased from 5 lakh to 10 times in India too
The havoc of corona virus infection across the world has broken out as a tremendous tragedy. Such things have arisen about almost every country that it hid the actual figures of deaths from Corona. In such a situation, the claims of Washington’s Institute of Health Matrix and Evaluation (IHME), including The Economist London, are also saying that the actual figures of deaths due to Kovid-19 can be many times higher. Both are saying that in 116 countries including India-China, about 22 million or 18 million deaths have occurred due to corona infection respectively. In the report published in the latest issue of Nature Journal, it has been said about India that the government has confirmed 5 lakh deaths at the moment, but the actual figure can also be ten times that i.e. around 50 lakhs.
Kovid-19 deaths exceeded 20 times in poor countries
It has been said in this report that from developed to developing countries, the data of death due to corona did not collect properly. For this, each country has set its own criteria. The report has given an example and explained that while the Netherlands counted only corona-infected people who died in the hospital, Belgium termed every death caused by cold-like symptoms as corona death without investigation. The report said that the death toll in rich countries remained high and poor countries low, but WMD analysis of 116 countries says that deaths due to corona infection were recorded less in poor countries. Both models say that the actual death toll in rich countries may be more than one-third of the current figure, while in poorer countries the death toll may be up to 20 times higher than the current figure.

WHO may release the figure of corona deaths
Along with this, it has been said that the World Health Organization may release its first assessment regarding corona deaths very soon. Work is going on on this. Taking the opinion of many experts in the report, it has been concluded that in order to estimate the actual deaths due to corona, the deaths of five years before the corona period will have to be compared with the epidemic period. Significantly, the corona epidemic is the biggest epidemic after the Spanish flu spread during 1918-20. In those days, about 75 million people died due to flu. After this, four lakh people died due to flu in 2009, 22 lakh in 1968, 31 lakh people in 1957-59.

Corona death toll is ten times more in India
According to the report, about five lakh deaths are being reported in India so far due to corona infection, but the assessment of the Economist suggests that this figure can reach ten times more i.e. 50 lakhs. It has also been said about China that there would have been 7.5 lakh deaths, which is 150 percent of the number accepted by the Beijing administration. Russia, the US, Brazil, Mexico, Iran, South Africa, Peru, Egypt, the Philippines and Italy have recorded far fewer deaths than the actual deaths, the report said.
